Seattle Opera celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Seattle Center with a free, live, HD simulcast of Madama Butterfly. Opening night, tonight, May 5, Seattle Opera captures the McCaw Hall performance and projects the live, multi-camera feed onto a 50' x 80' screen at KeyArena, bringing the beauty of opera to thousands.

Everyone with a ticket will be allowed in first, starting at 6:00 p.m. If there is space available, those without tickets will be able to enter at 6:30 p.m.

With its tuneful, familiar music, iconic characters, and universal themes, Madama Butterfly is a terrific introductory opera. This free simulcast is a good, no-risk opportunity for everyone in the community to discover the drama, excitement, passion, and pageantry of "the ultimate art."
