Twig Pigeon Releases New EP 'Beyonds'

Today, New Zealand's Twig Pigeon shares his latest EP,Beyonds. Ricky Simmonds, the musician and producer behind Twig Pigeon. Beyonds is a collection of songs relating to the trials and tribulations of making decisions, the anxieties that come as part of that, acting on your emotions and the effects this can have on yourself and the people around you. The EP was written, recorded, produced and mixed over the last two years by Twig Pigeon in Auckland, NZ, Wanganui and Wellington.

Beyonds is a play on words-it's a word to explain the process of moving on and exploring the many possibilities of what is to come. It relates to each step it takes in order to make a decision when you're going through something worth sorting out. The EP is here to take you on that journey to come to an ultimate conclusion. "The Thought (It's Over Me)" is the anxiety that you feel at first realization of being indecisive. The sub-sequential tracks explain a different stage of the process and the trials that arise with them, leading up to the last track, "Beyonds Part Two," where the subject matter is to overcome it, look to the future, and strive to be the best you can be.

"It has been a long process for me on this record. Dealing with big changes in my life and going through some significant learning experiences along the way. I felt when this EP was complete, the time searching for the most authentic sonic representation of what I have been going through was worth it. The EP is a step by step reaction through the initial anxiety of something you're going through, towards the outcome; where you emerge as a stronger and more resilient person of who you were when you began.
