The 9th Annual Werk Out Music & Arts Festival Set For August 2 - 4

The Werks are very pleased to announce that for the ninth year in a row they will be returning to the Legend Valley Concert Venue & Campground in Thornville, Ohio to host the preeminent improvised music event in the country. Joining The Werks at this very special happening in the woods will be Umphrey's McGee, Lettuce, Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle, Turkuaz, Knower (full band), Zach Deputy, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Ghost Light (ft Holly Bowling, Tom Hamilton, Steve Lyons, Raina Mullen, Scotty Zwang), and Mungion, with more acts announced soon.

In a world of ever-more homogenous music festivals, The Werk Out stands strong as a paragon of virtuosity; a place where fans can watch masters of their craft create magic right before their eyes. As more and more festivals shift their focus from truly live music, Werk Out offers a welcome respite.

Beyond performing musicians, The Werk Out Festival community is filled with a wide variety of visual artists, painters, sculptors, fire performers as well as interactive installation artwork that encourages participation from every attendee. The band's presence in the wider Ohio community is highlighted by their School Supply Drive for neighboring Thornville City Schools which encourages attendees to contribute, while getting a reward for at least five donated items.

The virtuosic rhythm crusaders of The Werks have released four highly acclaimed studio albums over the past ten years, performed well over one thousand shows, and released countless live recordings. Their newest LP Magic is muse put to tape, where melodies take flight, dancing and twisting around the sonorous main of the tune itself.

Formerly known as Buckeye Lake Music Center, the sprawling festival grounds of Legend Valley have played host to some of Ohio's most memorable live performances of the past five decades including half a dozen Grateful Dead concerts as well as tour stops from Lollapalooza, AC/DC, WOMAD, The Allman Brothers Band, and numerous other large events.
