For the first time ever on vinyl comes the expanded reissue of SOVIET's 2001 cult classic album We Are Eyes, We Are Builders. Originally released via Plastiq Musiq on compact disc in early 2001, the album earned nearly universal praise - so much in fact that renowned label Burger Records did a limited edition cassette release in 2011 that quickly sold out. It was inevitable that We Are Eyes, We Are Builders would finally get a proper vinyl release. Medical Records heard the call of fans all over the world, releasing this special edition of a synth pop masterpiece.

Caught in the electroclash media frenzy of the early 2000s, some were quick to dismiss Soviet as bandwagon jumpers, capitalizing on the retro sounds of yesteryear, en vogue at the time. But having formed in 1998, Soviet's sound transcended the fads, and critics recognized the fresh take songwriter Keith Ruggiero took, crafting thoughtful pop anthems with analog synths with a restrained touch that only a master would employ.

As reviews have stated, Soviet distinguished itself from other groups of the time, creating perfect electronic pop songs that sound as great today as they did when they were first released. It is truly a treat to finally listen to We Are Eyes, We Are Builders remastered by Martin Bowes (The Cage, United Kingdom). Martin has brought out sounds and harmonies that shine on vinyl more than any version of this album.

Fan favorite "Modern Love" has been included in this re-issue and Side D features five previously unreleased tracks. These deep cuts share a more intimate picture of the band's classic sound, giving the listener a fully rounded perspective on the Soviet experience.

This is the Soviet vinyl reissue that fans have been waiting for and that We Are Eyes, We Are Builders truly deserves.

The original lineup of Soviet was Keith Ruggerio, Kenan Gunduz, Greg Kochan, Amanda Berkowitz, and Christopher Otchy. WE ARE EYES, WE ARE BUILDERS is available now on vinyl.
