Whidbey Island Center for the Arts presents a Slaphappy Concert on Sunday, December 16 at 7:30 pm, featuring local favorites Mark Arand, Matthew Bell, Cameron Gray, and Gabe Harshman. Slaphappy will sing quartet-style seasonal songs in their first WICA Holiday concert.

Slaphappy likes to have fun on stage while maintaining a level of professional singing. "We try to have some fun while being really entertaining," Bell said. The group is serious about their vocal abilities and this will be the fourth year these singers have carved out some significant rehearsal time for this event.

In 2006, Slaphappy won the novice division of the Barbershop Competition in Anacortes and even made the finals in the national championship of the High School A Cappella competition. They were all cast in the South Whidbey High School production of Grease, among many other performances on south Whidbey.

Bell studied musical composition at Western Washington; fellow singer Harshman studied at Idyllwild Arts Academy in Idyllwild, California and Roosevelt University in Chicago. Arand and Gray graduated from South Whidbey High School in the class of 2008 and have continued their study of the performing arts and music; Arand is graduated from Whitman College and Gray studied at the University of British Columbia.

Ticket prices are $15 and are available by calling the WICA Ticket Office (360) 221-8268 or (800) 638-7631. Learn more about Upcoming Events @ WICA at www.WICAonline.com.
