Manhattan's SKATERS are set to kick off 2016 with a bang. Today, the band shares new single "Head On To Nowhere" in an in-depth interview since departing Warner Brothers with Consequence Of Sound. LISTEN/SHARE "Head On To Nowhere" HERE

Speaking candidly with CoS, SKATERS frontman Michael Ian Cummings talks about leaving the major label behind ("We got thrown against the wall and we didn't stick."), the band's decision to go DIY ("There was a true sense of freedom knowing that the record couldn't be rejected") and it's newfound creative output, emerging from the studio with 60+ new tracks ("This is the part of being in a band I like the most. Making music is actually the gratifying part the rest is just circus. The circus can be fun, but I don't want to live there.")

Check out the band's latest single "Head On To Nowhere" premiering exclusively with Consequence of Sound today. Highlighted by fuzzed out guitar-riffs, the track builds to an energetic, anthemic peak - the track is out tomorrow on all DSPs.

"I was going through one of my existential periods and was feeling really unhappy with the all the paths that supposedly lead to happiness. Go left, go right, stay home, go out; what's the difference? I had this unique discontent for any place I found myself, and wished I could just actually go nowhere. If I could find that solitude I would be happy. That's the cheery story of how I wrote "Head Onto Nowhere'" - Michael Cummings (SKATERS)

Since forming in 2012 SKATERS have built a solid reputation as a youthful, creative, energetic guitar-laden post-punk rock band. After relentless touring across the globe, critical acclaim, and impressive radio momentum both in the U.S., UK and Australia, the band parted ways with WB Records at the end of 2015. With their reclaimed freedom, they dug in and started writing in their NYC studio and have since released the tracks "Save Her Something Special" and "Mental Case" along with an accompanying video featuring Arrested Development star, Alia Shawkat.

Stay tuned for more and be sure to catch the band for their first NYC show of 2016 on January 28th at Baby's All Right! (TICKETS)
