Inspired by the breathtaking creativity and inventiveness of today's DIY kids, kindie music icon Recess Monkey celebrates "maker" culture with the band's eleventh studio recording, Wired. Recess Monkey's Wired Tour brings the rocking trio of Seattle teachers to the Philadelphia area for two high-voltage, all ages shows at 7:00 p.m on Saturday, June 28 at Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Rd., Kennett Square and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia.

Families should be ready for more disco dancing, knock-knock jokes and insanely catchy sing-alongs than you can shake a drumstick at, with every song powered by Recess Monkey's trademark, pitch-perfect understanding of what gets kids excited. In addition to a healthy charge of "gadget rock" tunes from Wired like "Take Your Kid To Work Day," "Wired," "Skee Ball," and "Brick by Brick," Recess Monkey will offer a "greatest hits" collection of singable, danceable, thinkable, and dreamable songs from nine year's worth of over-the-top previous albums.

Kids and their grownups will zoom around the lawn with Jack Forman, Drew Holloway, and Korum Bischoff on "Jet Pack," pull on their "Moon Boots" for a space-age, zero gravity moon bounce, laugh at the most outrageous knock-knock jokes on "Knocktopus," rip into a foot-stomping hoedown with "Flapjacks," and pop around the dance floor while the band gets popping on "Popcorn."

When not rocking out with Recess Monkey, Jack Forman serves as a popular on-air personality on SiriusXM's Kids Place Live, where his daily call-in show, Live From the Monkey House, is a hysterical mashup of game show segments, kid callers, special musical guests, and the best kids' and family music out there! Jack is really excited about greeting his Live From the Monkey House fans "up close and personal" after each of the Philly area shows.

Putting a razor-sharp, fantastical edge on the sense of wonder and exploration that's at the heart of "the everyday lives of kids," Recess Monkey weaves puns, jokes, stories, and shenanigans into its shows. No play on words is too much of a stretch, and no rhyming schemes are too out of bounds for the group's genre-bending cascade of catchy ditties that NPR described as "inventive, brilliant, multilayered." Audiences unanimously hail Recess Monkey's live shows "a great way to spend an hour rocking out!"

Ten Recess Monkey songs have reached #1 on SiriusXM's Kids Place Livechart. Time Magazine celebrated Recess Monkey's "tight, smart, acclaimed original songs ... and seriously grooving funk." Explained kids' music authority Stefan Shepherd (Zooglobble.com), "Recess Monkey just keeps turning out album after album with pop nuggets, as if we'd just discovered that The Beatles had recorded a ton of kids' music 40+ years ago."

Wired will be available at recessmonkey.com, amazon.com, cdbaby.com, theAVCafe.com, bigkids.com, iTunes, bandcamp.com, Silver Platters, Sonic Boom Records, and Barnes & Noble.
