Rebecca Martin to End 2016 With a New Band Residency at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC

Rebecca Martin will be performing with her new band at Rockwood Music Hall the last two Tuesdays, 12/20 & 27, in December and the first Wednesday, 1/2, in January 2017. She will be performing brand new originals with her band, Lage Lund (Guitar), Larry Grenadier (Bass) and Dan Rieser (Drums). More info can be found HERE

2016 saw the much anticipated release of the debut self-titled album from Tillery (Becca Stevens, Rebecca Martin, Gretchen Parlato). Tillery was released on Larrecca Music in the US and Coreport in Japan. It is included in the early Grammy ballot's in the Best Folk Album category. DOWNBEAT gave the recording 4.5 stars and raved, "Individually, Stevens, Parlato and Martin are powerful artists with unique visions. Together, they have created something transcendent."

2016 also marks ten years of Rebecca Martin's working relationship with the famed label Sunnyside Records. Her newest collaborative project called "The Upstate Project" showcases her work with the Argentinian composer and pianist Guillermo Klein and featuring Larry Grenadier and Jeff Ballard scheduled to be released on February 10th, 2017. The group will have its record release concert in New York City on February 11th at the Rockwood Music Hall's main stage. VIEW The Upstate Project in the New York Times.

As an activist and community organizer, Rebecca was recognized in The New Yorker Magazine earlier this year for the work she has done successfully organizing her home of Kingston, NY against Niagara Bottling, a California water bottling company, that aimed to purchase and sell the municipality's water supply. Described in the article by fellow activist and friend actress Rachel Weisz, as "a very talented musician and a devoted mum who, as a concerned citizen, educated herself in the very complex details of local politics."
