Playing For Change Releases New SONG AROUND THE WORLD Video

Playing For Change (PFC), the multimedia company responsible for the popular "Songs Around The World" video series garnering more than 500 million total online views, has launched its latest "Song Around The World" music video, a cover of Sam Cooke's Bring It On Home To Me exclusively premiered by Huff Post. Watch it here.

Bring It On Home To Me features PFC stars, the late LA street performer Roger Ridley and Grandpa Elliott, both of whom were featured on PFC's first breakout "Song Around The World" video Stand By Me (which has garnered over 122 million combined views on YouTube and Vevo since its 2008 release). The new video also features Ridley's sister, Alice Tan Ridley (singer, former America's Got Talent star and mother of Precious star Gabourey Sidibe), as well as saxophonist Karl Denson.

PFC first started filming the video in Santa Monica with Ridley in 2005 and subsequently captured 17 performers in four countries (including Japan, Italy and Cuba) over a 13-year period.

"Bring It On Home To Me is the final PFC Song Around The World video featuring both Roger Ridley and Grandpa Elliott together," reflects Mark Johnson, Co Founder of Playing For Change. "This video serves as a tribute to them both, for all of the love and talent they have shared with everyone who's ever passed them by on the streets."

The video release coincides with news that Playing For Change has signed with the multi-GRAMMY®-winning label Motéma Music to release its fourth "Songs Around The World" album in 2018. The new album represents PFC's most ambitious work to date, featuring 12 new songs multi-tracked at picturesque locations in 25 countries spotlighting over 200 artists of diverse nationalities.

"Signing Playing For Change means so very much to me" says Jana Herzen, President and Founder of Motéma Music "because the ethos behind Playing For Change perfectly matches Motéma's commitment to promoting artists of power and distinction from many corners of the world. I also feel that this joyful and diverse music is the perfect antidote to the fear mongering and xenophobia that we are facing here in the U.S. and beyond."

Album details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Playing For Change would like to thank their partners nana music and2SeasSessions.

About Playing For Change

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. PFC's primary focus is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. From these videos they formed the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of their mission, featuring musicians met along their journey-and established the Playing For Change Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of the planet.
