After the release of his debut album, which earned comparisons to Frank Ocean and TA-KU, Parisian multi-instrumentalist FKJ is now debuting the video for lead single "Why Are There Boundaries?". The passionate, topical track takes FKJ to the US/Mexico border to examine how a simple wall can create such differences and rifts in society. Gorgeously expansive visuals shot in Tijuana and the Mexican desert add a pensive air to the extremely hot-button issue. "Why Are There Boundaries?" is truly an example of how art can be used to explore the most pressing issues facing our world today. Explains FKJ:

"We chose the most iconic border in the world to denounce with poetry the wall building tendency and the fear of the unknown that has become a worldwide concern and one of the main topics commented on by the media everyday.

...We broke four cars in two days of shooting. We had to face a stone avalanche, a car accident and many other obstacles. We shot in the favelas of Tijuana, known for being one of the most violent cities in the world for decades...Being at the Mexico-US border was important to us and it wasn't an easy task. We fought hard for that video to exist. We wanted to video director and his crew to be Mexican so that the whole team would feel concerned and engaged in achieving what we wanted to be a piece of art. This is why we decided to collaborate with Alaska, after having heard of their growing reputation in Mexico."

FKJ is also currently on tour across the US -- see below for dates. French Kiwi Juice, the debut album combining funk, jazz, electronica, R&B, and more, is available now via all streaming platforms.

MORE ON FKJ:
Futuristically classy: French Kiwi Juice. Better known by the abbreviation FKJ, the artist has mastered the sound of sophisticatedly smooth electronic music. With serene sounds perfect for posh settings, FKJ, with his strong catalogue of tracks, has found himself on repeat in the dwellings of all Roche Musique alumni.

FKJ, born Vincent Fenton, was a sound engineer in cinemas before beginning his career in music. Music has always been part of his life: he started to compose songs at age 13 and recorded his first track at 14, in his uncle's studio. This self-taught man is also a multi-instrumentalist and mastered everything in studio and on stage. FKJ is an accomplished musician who plays guitar, bass, saxophone, piano and many more. Although his music can be linked to the new scene of French electronic music, he describes his work like a mix of hip-hop and funk, influenced by jazz and soul.

FKJ made his debut in 2013 with the single "Lying Together". Two EPs followed this track: Time For A Change in 2013, which was met with a warm reception, and Take Off in 2014, which expanded past the borders of France to seduce an international public. To this date, FKJ has performed to audiences across the world, including tours in Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia.
