Melbourne Fan Brings Historic 47-Year-Old German Jazz Catalog To Australia "Jazz is an important artform and ensuring its history lives on is very important and bringing that history to Australia is a coup for the arts. Having a new Australian connection keeping the legacy of artists like Chet Baker and Archie Shepp alive make me incredibly proud and I am excited to bring these masterpieces to new audiences."

Dandon has been a lifelong contributor to the arts in Australia with jazz occupying a special place in his heart.

As an artist under the name Albare, Dadon has toured the world and met with critical acclaim for his album. He was also the Director of the Melbourne Jazz Festival from 2003 to 2005, and founded the Australian Jazz Bell Awards in 2003.

More recently, in 2015 Dadon opened Bird's Basement on William St, Melbourne carving out a home for live jazz music in Victoria and in that same year launched Alfi Records; an international, multicultural, artist-focused record label.

Now Alfi Records brings Enja Records to Australia.

Created in 1972, a year after founders Matthias Winkelmann and Horst Weber made their first recording together, Enja Records has been the prize of European Jazz and the envy of its US counterparts for nearly 50 years.

Housing recordings from jazz greats including Archie Shepp, Chet Baker, Elvis Jones and Coleman Hawkins, the catalog of music from Enja Records stands as a collected history of a genre, spanning 47 years and countless movements in jazz.
That little piece of jazz history, now has an Australian home and will be released globally on April 6 across all digital platforms.
