MGMT co-founders, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, met at Wesleyan University in 2001. Their debut album, Oracular Spectacular (2008), released through Columbia Records, garnered the band three Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. The "musically adventurous" eclectic mix of tracks that comprise Congratulations (2010) demonstrate MGMT's unconventional pop structures. The album debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 and #4 in the UK, and received tremendous popular acclaim. Performing live as a five piece band, MGMT continue to entertain through television appearances, including a spot on the Jimmy FallonShow this past September performing Pink Floyd's "Lucifer Sam," frequent performances at music festivals around the globe, and projects such as a recent edition of the LateNightTales music compilation. Ben and Andrew are currently at work on the third MGMT album.
