Liz Asaro Debuts Second Single of 2018 With GroundSounds

New York-based rock songwriter Liz Asaro has premiered her new single "High" via GroundSounds. Her latest song was recorded in London around the same time as her previous single "All The Good People," and features production by Brendan Davies and Alex Elliott. Cowritten with Elliott, Asaro also assembled a world-class group of musicians for "High," including bassist Tim Lefebvre (Elvis Costello, David Bowie) and drummer David "Greenie" Green.

Where her previous track was inspired by social media's impact on the current political climate, "High" revels in combating everyday routines by finding little ways to bring joy into your life. Asaro elaborated on her new single in an exclusive quote with GroundSounds:

To be frank, "High" is about being high. Could be about being on drugs, but it's also just about letting go, letting your mind run feeling good in the moment. It really can be about any kind of high that makes you happy and gets you out of your every day routines. [...] Being in a state where you can let everything go and just let all sensory stuff take over is amazing. I tend to write about a lot of human nature stuff, cuz I get caught up with why we do the things we do and make the choices we make as humans. Kinda fun to just write about sex and drugs sometimes.

Inspired by an eclectic mix of modern pop and '90s artists like Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Arctic Monkeys, P!nk, and twentyone pilots, Asaro's sound has drawn praise from outlets like Huffington Post, AXS, Vents Magazine, Soundigest, and many more.
