Joanna Harp To Join Dance Media as Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer
Dance Media, the leading digital and print publisher for all aspects of dance, has announced that Joanna Harp has joined the company's growing executive management team as Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer to lead all aspects of growth and digital evolution.
"The awesome legacy of Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, Pointe, Dance Teacher and Dance Retailer News has laid an incredible foundation that we are leveraging in the digital, social and live event worlds," said Fred Seegal, Dance Media owner. Seegal continues, "With this as a backdrop, I am thrilled to have Joanna joining our incredible team to propel this strategy forward."
Harp is a veteran, with a wealth of experience in transforming traditional publishers into world-class digital media businesses, having held executive positions at Haymarket, DC Comics, Crain Communications and others.
For more than eight years, Harp was a Group Publisher and VP with Lifestyle Media, where she launched brands like Pointe and PilatesStyle - making this move back to lead Dance Media an exciting return to the business she helped create.
"Dance is my greatest passion and advancing media brands is my professional career," said Harp when asked why she decided to join Dance Media. "Combining the two is the greatest opportunity to elevate the voice of the US dance community, create products, and drive engagement, for the betterment of everyone involved."
Working with the rest of the Dance Media team, Harp will lead the development of new branded products including a series of video-based engagement sites featuring dancer-led content and other exciting opportunities in 2019.
