Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jason Reeves drops a new EP, Caged Birds Set Free, on November 15th, 2011.

Released independently via abeautifularmyoftrees, Birds takes flight in the wake of Reeves' latest full-length, The Lovesick, which debuted at #7 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart in August. The seven EP tracks stand rooted in a raw organic folk separate from The Lovesick's dreamy electronics, proving to be the perfect next step, as well as a return to signature form for the singer-songwriter. With the help of longtime collaborator and producer Mikal Blue, Reeves taps into honest emotion via heartfelt lyrics, hypnotic acoustic guitars, and piano.

Among the set's seven songs are two versions of "Wishing Weed," re-recorded from Reeves' Patience for the Waiting EP and now featuring the talents of Reeves' frequent collaborator, Colbie Caillat. Also included is first single "Rescue," a longtime fan favorite and offered as a studio track for the first time.

The EP will be digital only and available for purchase through all major digital retailers, including iTunes and Amazon.

About the songs and in the wake of his newfound independence, Jason enthuses, "I've never felt freer, and this collection is very special to me. It signals my next phase, and I'm excited for the world to hear them as a new beginning."

Reeves' is a 27-year-old 3-time ASCAP pop award-winner from Iowa City, Iowa and released his long awaited LP, The Lovesick, in August. The record was a follow up to 2007's The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and other Frightening Tales), which received widespread critical acclaim; including "Top Indie Singer Songwriter" and "Top Folk Album" honors from iTunes.

The Lovesick climbed to No. 8 on the iTunes Pop Charts and featured an "edgier" sound that showcased Reeves' unique blend of modern folk and pop sensibilities. The record contains collaborations from American Idol alum Kara DioGuardi as well as another single "No Lies" with Ms. Caillat; with whom Reeves has co-written 22 songs, including chart toppers "Bubbly," and "Realize" from Caillat's platinum debut Coco, as well as hit single "I've Never Told You," from her Grammy-nominated "Breakthrough" album.
