Ethan Sak Releases New Single, 'Make My Heart Go'

17-year-old singer/songwriter Ethan Sak kicks off 2019 with a new single, "Make My Heart Go," released on January 25, and the opening slot on Hey Monea's national "Nothing In The Tank" tour. "Make My Heart Go" is the first track off of Ethan's forthcoming EP.

Raised in the Muscle Shoals community, where he jokes that "music is actually in our drinking water," Ethan has been playing the piano since he was five years old, began writing musical notes before learning the alphabet and studied at Florence Academy of Fine Arts, a high school program whose partners include the legendary FAME recording studios. Inspired by artists ranging from Bon Iver to Jack Garratt, Son Lux, Gem Club and Hozier, he was discovered by GRAMMY-winning songwriter Gary Baker and signed a publishing deal with Baker's Noiseblock Music Publishing (ASCAP) when he was just 14 years old.

Occasionally opting to start with a ukulele instead of his piano, Ethan describes his songwriting style as, "elements of electronic, alternative, groove, and even folk. I've never wanted to write a song that either isn't a great play on words and stretch of my writing ability or doesn't say something deeper than most."

"I absolutely love the moment that I'm playing a song for someone," he continues, looking forward to the upcoming tour, "and I get so into it that I forget I'm playing it for anyone. It's when I come out of that moment that I realize that the audience went into that moment with me, and I've totally captured them with my own music. I sing for getting the audience to feel whatever I want them to feel, and when I can do that correctly, no feeling in the world can beat it."

Ethan will perform with his bandmates Collin James (guitar) and Thomas Silvers (drums) in the following cities:
