Enola Fall to Return to America; Debut New Single 'Closer'

Enola Fall, an indie band from Tasmania; Australia's oft forgotten southernmost state is led by singer Joe Nuttall, who says the band was created in 2005 as an outlet for him to annoy the largest number of people possible with his falsetto.

He will be returning to the states starting September 8th for a month long cross-country stint showcasing tunes from Enola Fall's next album, expected in spring of 2017. While their last release, Heliotropic showcased a Cure/New Order vibe, Nuttal explains "This new record is shaping up to be somewhere more in the vicinity of Kate Bush, Bowie (RIP), Sufjan Stevens and several other amazing musicians that I probably shouldn't be comparing myself to."

For a taste of what is to come you can listen to the first single 'Closer.' "The single is about intimacy; (not necessarily sexual, and of course not necessarily binary) and what that does to people. Nearly everyone has a memory of lying in the dark after a party or similar, and having someone reach out to hold their hand. How does that change (or f up!) the space between you?" Enola Fall has released 3 albums, 3 EPs, and has toured in Australia and across the world headlining and as support to some of Australia's hardest working bands, from The Jezabels, and Sparkadia, through to Amanda Palmer, The Beards, and The Violent Femmes.

Since the 2015 release of Heliotropic, Enola Fall have been invited to take the stage at America's prestigious Culture Collide Festival, playing alongside acts like Ash and British India, and has also seen them play to enthusiastic crowds in Portland, San Francisco and LA in the same trip. Nuttall talks about touring in America: "I'm obsessed with touring in America. Sometimes you can feel the musical history of that country on the highways... it's no coincidence that there are so many songs named after US states and cities. It's a huge, sprawling, brawling glorious mess!"

A two-time finalist in the International Song Writing Competition (taking 4th place in 2015), Enola Fall are happy to have found an audience in the USA - "We're really grateful to have a solid fan base in the US that allows us to go back almost yearly. Radio has come on board in the US - people are hearing and thinking 'this is cool' and then they hear we're from Tasmania so that's the Huh factor."
