Ecce Shnak Debuts New Track LARRY, SLEEPOVER FRIEND, EP Out 4/5

NYC-based seven-piece art rock ensemble Ecce Shnak (pronounced Eh-kay Sh-knock) will release their new EP, Joke Oso, on April 5. Today, the band gives us a taste of the new music, sharing the Weezer-oid EP opener, "Larry, Sleepover Friend" - listen via Billboard, enjoy/share via YouTube.

The maddeningly hooky track focuses matter-of-factly on a possible sleepover with "Larry", the band's imaginary friend with an unpredictable whim. Larry I keep seeing you around. Shouldn't we have a sleepover? Every day until our loves are found, You and me should have a sleepover.

Chamber punk outfit Ecce Shnak is the brainchild of David Roush, whose art takes a journey from light-hearted to gravely serious, from order to chaos back to order - a meticulously constructed music universe that can only be described in its own terms. Once heard, it will be impossible to unhear it. The band's unique musical universe is an endless rabbit hole of arcane references, inside jokes and a bit of sincerity in the most unlikely places.

In addition to "Larry, Sleepover Friend", Billboard also highlights the epic video for "Dingleberry IV, Finale: Katy's Wart", as the short film recently won the "Best Music Animation" award at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival. It is also competing in the 'International Music Videos' competition at ANIFILM 2019.

Following up from their 2013 EP Letters to German Vasquez Rubio, the band will release the fruits of their labor with two new efforts, Joke Oso, scheduled to come out April 5, and Metamorphejawns, slated for the summer. Joke Oso was recorded and produced by Philadelphia-based engineer Jeff Lucci of Mo Lowda & The Humble in his living room, then remixed by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Apples in Stereo, Luna, Swans, Antony and the Johnsons) withFred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Iggy Pop, The National, Phish, The Walkmen) mastering.
