Dynamic. Mesmerizing. Superb. Singer/songwriter Sylvia Tosun has become the go-to vocalist and collaborator for electronic dance music's brightest producers and her voice possesses the power wielded by mythological sirens. Tosun's latest release, DoubleV & Sylvia Tosun, "Hold Your Fire" (IHU / Armada Music), is out now.

The Radio Edit of "Hold Your Fire" starts with Tosun utilizing her natural voice without the aid of special effects to impart a futuristic-sounding stutter effect evocative of dolphin communication. This exceptional display of vocal control gives way to a syncopated, trance beat with an unbelievably heavy bassline. Tosun's voice positively hypnotizes the listener who is drawn ever deeper into this terrific song. Tosun sounds as intoxicating here as she did on her previous single, "Winterburn," even though an octave lower on "Hold Your Fire." Tosun's vocal has the effect of being multi-tracked so that it seems to weave in-and-out of itself. This vibrant, trance song is not what one would typically hear everywhere and it's a superb track that's refreshing in its originality. A marvelous, mid-tempo song, listeners will dig the ending, one that evokes a vinyl record slowing-down and then stopping. Through sheer force of will, Sylvia Tosun is able to sonically summon an army poised to attack. The Extended Mix of "Hold Your Fire" takes its time with a sensuously relaxed intro that washes over the air, setting the scene for Tosun's dramatic vocal. This longer version is fit for a gauzy, romance-inspired thriller as Tosun paints images in the mind's eye that dance and flicker.

Sylvia Tosun is a classically-trained soprano and award-winning singer/songwriter with an affinity for electronic dance music. Accepted into New York's prestigious Juilliard School of Music at age 15, Tosun began her career performing with the New York Grand Opera Company and shortly afterward became one of the lead vocalists of the multi-platinum selling act, Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Tosun has performed alongside Alicia Keys and Cyndi Lauper at the Great Wall of China. Tosun's songs, "Underlying Feeling" and "Push and Pull" are classics to this day, the latter peaking at the #1 chart position in Billboard in 2010. In 2011, Tosun became one of the most recognizable voices in electronic dance music with "An Angel's Love," which was featured on Armin van Buuren's Universal Religion Chapter 5 compilation. An ode to Tosun's grandmother, "An Angel's Love" quickly grew into a worldwide hit and is considered one of the defining vocal trance anthems of the decade. Tosun has collaborated with trance DJ/producer Andrew Rayel, most notably on a remix for "An Angel's Love" and on the co-productions, "There Are No Words," "We Bring The Love" and "Winterburn." Tosun was accorded the Songwriters Hall of Fame BMI Award for Excellence in Songwriting and the USA Songwriting Award in five categories. She is an unprecedented two-time recipient of the USO's Ambassador to Goodwill.

Vadim Angan and Vasile Gavril comprise the Moldovan dance music DJ and production duo known as DoubleV. The pair's first single, "Wings of Heaven," was released in 2011 and it garnered support from industry heavyweights including Paul Oakenfold and Giuseppe Ottaviani. In 2013, DoubleV signed with IHU Recordings, a sub-label of Armada Music, and their high-quality productions soon after began receiving attention from the king-of-trance himself, Armin van Buuren, as well as from Andrew Rayel, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Hardwell, MaRLo, Afrojack and several other leading DJ/producers.
