Electronic music innovators and world-leading DJs RICHIE HAWTIN and LOCO DICE have been touring the Northeast with CNTRL: Beyond EDM – DISCOVERING & SHOWCASING Electronic & Techno(logy) based Music, a groundbreaking North American college lecture and club tour. Now, this Wednesday, November 14 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. EST/2 p.m. – 4 p.m. PST, fans from around the globe are invited to tune in as HAWTIN, DICE and their CNTRL tour mates Seth Troxler and Ean Golden, along with special guests Kevin Saunderson, will stream live the full lecture. His sons D'Marii and Dantiez Saunderson will also make a guest appearance-the pair have been taking music technology lessons with Dubspot who are CNTRL's Partners in Education. The CNTRL event will be streamed live from Necto in Ann Arbor, MI at WWW.LIVEBEATS.COM/MINUS. The location has been moved from the University of Michigan to Necto due to huge local demand. The live stream comes off the back of huge pressure on social media to show the world what is going on in the inspirational sessions.
Since launching October 29 in Buffalo, the CNTRL: BEYOND EDM tour has embarked on a cultural engagement, bringing together fans of electronic dance music and those interested in it into deeper forms of the genre by educational daytime lectures on music technology. Lectures focus on the techno and technology aspects of modern-day electronic music, presenting the more futuristic and underground side of the genre, as championed by HAWTIN and DICE and their peers for the last two decades. Central to the CNTRL concept are daytime seminars in the colleges to inform and inspire people about technology, music production, live performance, and the business of electronic music. CNTRL will be a future thinking session, but will also ensure the students leave with a deeper understanding of how the genre developed to where it is today. The event then ends with a club gig, giving the students a chance to experience the artists in action.Videos
