According to Billboard, pop superstars Beyonce and Madonna have joined the lineup in the 'Sound of Change' Concert being held in London this Saturday, 6/1. The concert aims to raise funds for over a hundred charities and missions who seek to aid women and girls.

Around a billion people are expected to view the concert which is taking place in Twickenham Sports Stadium and being simultaneously broadcast to 150 countries. The list of performers includes Florence + The Machine, Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding, Haim, John Legend and Timbaland. Madonna will be a presenter during the show along with Gloria Steinham and the Bishop Desmond Tutu.

Madonna was quoted as saying 'Sixty percent of the children in the world not in school are girls...Two-thirds of the world's illiterate are women. I do not accept this. We need to change this and we will change this.'

The concert is being organized by the Gucci funded charity Chime for Change. Ticket buyers can use a voucher that they receive at purchase to donate to one of the hundred-plus charities and projects supporting various causes for women worldwide.

Some of the causes being supported include providing health care to Syrian refugees, fighting female sexual mutilation, providing safe haven for domestic violence victims and attempts to combat childbirth deaths in Sierra Leone.
