Bastian Baker Releases Single 'You Should Call Home'

Singer/songwriter Bastian Baker says "You Should Call Home" in his new single from his genre-defying, self-titled fourth studio and American debut album, which released to rave reviews in October.

Listen to "You Should Call Home" below!

"I travel so much and often get caught up in my work and the day-to-day grind that important things like giving my folks back in Switzerland a call can sometimes slip through the cracks. I wouldn't be me without my family and Switzerland as a whole. You truly never know what tomorrow may bring, so I do my best to call home as much as possible. I hope this song will encourage others to do the same!" says Baker.

The Rolling Stone "Artist You Need To Know" spent most of 2018 on Shania Twain's Now World Tour, where he warmed up an audience of over 1.1 million worldwide with his acoustic opening set "in a style reminiscent of Ed Sheeran's early performances." (Guitar World) As the tour came to a close in December, Bastian sat down with Forbes to discuss his Swiss background and how it's influenced his music, ultimately leading him to his first tour across the United States with one of the most iconic female vocalists of all time.

Forbes reports "Year after year, Switzerland ranks among the happiest countries in the world in the annual World Happiness Report and Global Peace Index, along with with surveys conducted by entities like U.S. News & World Report and The New York Times. The tiny European nation hasn't engaged in any conflict - global or regional - in over 200 years." With healthcare and quality of life being among the country's top priorities, it's no surprise that "the Swiss are regarded as some of the most genial people on the planet." (Forbes)

In the coming weeks, the "hot Swiss singer-songwriter with a country twang" (People) looks forward to returning to the U.S. for shows in The Big Apple and Music City. He'll take the stage on January 24 at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York and The Back Corner in Nashville on January 30.

Influenced by the 850 shows he's played in over 40 countries in the last seven years, Bastian's latest album has been named "one of the biggest breakouts of the year" as it "plays with genre, refusing to get pinned down to a singular aesthetic, and yet still feels unified." (Popdust) The genre-defying project was brought to life by producers and songwriters around the globe including GRAMMY Award-winner Jacquire King (Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi). The latest project showcases Bastian's "down-to-Earth storytelling that Johnny Cash would smile and nod at" (Popdust) with writing credits on all 14 tracks.
