Legendary DJ, Grammy-nominated producer, Fool's Gold label head and cultural curator A-Trak kicks off 2018 with an expansive new mix: Cut It Out 2, out today. Listen to it here. "I recorded this during a day off on Holy Ship," says A-Trak of the mix. "I wanted to include a bunch of music I listen to but don't get to play enough in my sets. I like to sway between genres...don't get seasick."
The 77-minute journey features explorations in drum-and-bass, dembow, techno and electronic soul, bookmarked by A-Trak's signature blend of hip hop and house.
A-Trak, born Alain Macklovitch, is the quintessential cultural connector. His 20-year musical path has seen him take turns as an internationally renowned turntablist, right hand to Kanye West, founder of the iconic label Fool's Gold, Grammy-nominated producer, innovative remixer and much more. 2017 was a banner year for A-Trak, with the inauguration of his championship for DJs and producers-the Goldie Awards - and events celebrating Fool's Gold's 10-year anniversary across the globe. More new music from A-Trak is set for release in 2018.
