Last night (Tuesday, June 13), Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin kicked off "Summer of Beer," the first of its three-part dinner series with beer partner Kona Brewing Co. The evening introduced guests to the tropical tasting notes and fruit-forward aromas of Kona Brewing Co.'s seasonal selections expertly matched with Executive Chef Spencer Rudow's four courses.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. guests were presented with a customary lei greet as they were shown to the dining room to take their seat where a variety of luao-themed appetizers such as ceviche and pork skewers were passed. Kona Brewing Co.'s representative Shaun Frost took the mic to introduce the meal and beer varieties they were about to taste, while the Kalua Pig was roasting in the La Caja China. The first course of Ahi tuna poké was served set to the pairing of Kona Big Wave Golden Ale.

Next up Lau Lau Salmon, steamed in banana leaves and the whole-roasted Kahlua Pig were each served family-style and paired with Kona's Hanalei Island IPA and Fire Rock pale ale respectively. The meal ended on a sweet note with Halo Halo, a Filipino dessert with mixtures of pineapple shaved ice and coconut tapioca pudding set to the pairing of Kona's Mango Saison. To conclude the evening, raffle tickets were distributed to guests in attendance and prizes such as a Kona-branded cooler and lawn chair were presented to the winners.

A second beer dinner is planned with Joseph James Brewing Co., Tuesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the restaurant at 702.202.6300 or visiting Bar & Grill's event link at http://wolf.pk/summerofbeer.
