Links Taproom to Transform Into 'Links Country Club & Golf Bar' for Halloween

Links Taproom - an All-American craft beer and sausage focused neighborhood bar located at 1559 N Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park - will transform into "Links Country Club & Golf Bar" from Friday, October 27 thru Tuesday, October 31 for Halloween.

"Links Country Club & Golf Bar" décor, beverages and food are inspired by golf courses, country clubs, golf movies (Caddysnack and Happy Gilmore), and "halfway houses" (which are snack bars on golf courses located between holes). Links' interior floors will be covered in AstroTurf to mimic a golf course, there will be mini golf holes in the bar, a golf cart in the bar, and other golf inspired decor. Links' exterior signage will change to "Links Country Club & Golf Bar".

This is the fourth year Links has "dressed up" for Halloween: In 2016 Links transformed into "Trader Links Tiki Bar" - a classic tiki bar. In 2015 Links transformed into "Lynx" - a death metal bar. In 2014 Links transformed into "Linqs Beer Hall" - a Belgian beer pub.

"Links Country Club & Golf Bar" will feature the following specialty beers:

"Mr. Noonan" (Caddyshack reference) - Scotch-soaked golf tees randalled thru Miller Lite

"Mrs .Noonan" (Caddyshack reference) - gin-soaked golf tees randalled thru Miller Lite

"ChatMan" - an exclusive Links collaboration with Chicago's AleMan Brewing Company which is an ESB with Earl Grey tea and lemon peel.

"Fore!Man" - an exclusive Links collaboration with Chicago's AleMan Brewing Company which is a German-style kettle sour ale with lemon notes.

Links will also have will serve Scotch ales, shandy, railers, and other golf-inspired beers on tap.

"Links Country Club & Golf Bar" will feature the following specialty cocktails:

The Shooter McGavin (Happy Gilmore reference which is a martini shot)

Lacey Underall (a riff on "Azelea" Masters cocktail made of gin, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine)

ChattyShack (white wine spritzer)

Tiger's Wood (Scotch, Earl Grey tea, lemon juice, simple, lemon bitters)

The Francheesy (inspired by Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook) ~ Links Polish sausage split open, filled with cheese, wrapped in bacon, and served on a bun.

Chub's Nubs (Happy Gilmore reference) ~ fried alligator bites w/ dipping sauces

Pimiento Cheese Platter (celery, carrots, cucumber, pretzel chips, breadsticks, housemade potato chips)

Grilled Pimiento Cheese Sandwiches

Open Face Club, Sand Wedge (The Simpsons reference) ~ Split open Links chicken sausage with fried bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise that's served open face.
