Capilano Honey Ltd, the market leader for honey in Australia and one of the world's largest honey packers, today announced the U.S. debut of Capilano Beeotic Honey, the world's first clinically tested prebiotic honey.

A specialty honey sourced exclusively from healthy Australian bees, Beeotic Honey with a combination of 8 naturally occurring oligosaccharides, may help nourish the good bacteria inthe gut. Beeotic Honey launched in Australia in 2016 following a groundbreaking clinical study at the University of New South Wales in Australia that confirmed the prebiotic health potential of select Australian honeys.

"As we expand into the U.S. market, we are thrilled to deliver the delicious taste of pure, Australian honey along with its health benefits to a broader international audience," said Dr. Ben McKee, Managing Director of Capilano Honey Ltd. "We test every batch of Beeotic Honey to ensure it contains prebiotic components so people around the world can help support their digestive health by consuming real, pure honey."

Beeotic Honey contains fibers called oligosaccharides, complex carbohydrates that serve as naturally occurring prebiotics. Indigestible by humans, these prebiotics can help to nourish the good bacteria that naturally reside in one's gut. This may assist in balancing the ratio of good to bad bacteria in the gut microbiome and help to support digestive health.

"Beeotic provides a convenient, tasty and safe way for people to consume prebiotics on a daily basis as part of their normal routines," said Dr. McKee. "As gut health continues to be a focus for the public at large, we remain dedicated to creating honey that may naturally support the health of the gut microbiome through food."

Capilano Beeotic Honey is now available at Walmart locations across the U.S. in 13.2 OZ jars or 12.0 OZ squeeze bottles, starting at $9.98.

Capilano Beeotic Honey is non-GMO with BPA-free packaging. For more information, visit capilanohoney.com.
