The 3rd Annual HINTON BATTLE - DAY OF DANCE 2026 has announced its instructors for the day at this year's event.

Returning for his third year as Ballet Master is Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Director Robert Garland. Joining for the first time to teach Horton is Alvin Ailey faculty member and Footprints Dance Company Artistic Director, Freddie Moore. Joining again for the second time is Broadway choreographer (“A Wonderful World”) Rickey Tripp as well as Fosse Master instructor Lloyd Culbreath. Lastly, Tap is Broadway tap choreographer (“A Wonderful World) and Two-Time Chita Rivera Award Nominee, DeWitt Fleming Jr.. 

Applications are actively open now at the Day Of Dance website until than May 22. The class will take place on May 30 at Open Jar Studios.

In addition to the dance masterclasses and panel discussion, two awards will be presented; the 2026 Legacy Award and the 2026 Rising Star Award. This year’s recipients will be announced at a later date. Classes for the full day are all free of charge and admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis upon sign-up.
