Choreographer Nancy Meehan Dies at 85

Nancy Meehan, choreographer and leading soloist in the Hawkins troupe from 1961 to 1970 has died on November 23. She was 85 years old. According to her husband and only survivor, the cause of death was pneumonia.

Ms. Meehan founded the Nancy Meehan Dance Company in 1970 which was located in New York City. She was born on March 20, 1931 in San Francisco, attended the University of California, Berkeley, performed with the Ann Halprin-Welland Lathrop Dance Company, and also taught at numerous colleges.
