The Renaldo Ensemble to Play at the Brick Theater 9/25

Absurdist singer/guitarist Aldo Perez and company will host an evening of clown cabaret. The Renaldo Ensemble is a musical exercise in human ridiculousness and musically flits between bizarre episodes and silly antics. Perez as the petty aristocrat Renaldo The..., finds himself in constant conflict with his musical ensemble: the maid, his valet and 2 psychologist/scientists. The Ensemble visits opera, rock, jazz, tango and country, all with equal aplomb, as flamenco guitar, percussion, clarinet, tuba, and toy piano comprise the instrumentation for this virtuosic and unusual ensemble. One can expect flutes being played through the nose, singing with razors, opera and cigarettes, and talking paintings. Aldo Perez (Renaldo The) - Guitarist, Songwriter, Actor. Founding member of NYC Art Rock Band Psycho The Clown and originator of performance character Renaldo The. Perez has composed for theater and film as well as written three Off Broadway pieces: 9 The Musical: 2001, The Curse of the Mystic Renaldo The: 2007and American Hallucinations: 2008. A student of music and philosophy Perez has studied privately with Composer John Corigliano, Guitar Masters Jorge Morel, Julio Prol and Tuck Andress. Theater training at Ensemble Studio Theater NYC.

Jenny Lee Mitchell ( The Maid) - studied theatre at The Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU and classical voice in Germany. Credits include: Dance Of The Vampires, directed by Roman Polanski, Dames At Sea, Fame, Falsettos, Jekyll And Hyde, Orpheus In The Underworld, King Ludwig II, A Christmas Carol, You Again - NYFringe05, The Curse Of The Mystic Renaldo The, at 3 Legged Dog, The East Village Fragments with Peculiar Works.  Dottie Bean in The Amazing Goldin at the Northeast Theatre, The Queen of Hearts in Wonderland by the acclaimed physical theatre co The Flying Machine and Catherine in Charles Mee's Fire Island. Clown studies and assistance with David Shiner. She is co-artistic director of TheaterTHE and also plays clarinet with The Maestrosities.
