Help celebrate The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' 40th anniversary by joining Founder and Artistic Director Albert Bergeret, plus the NYGASP repertory cast & orchestra, alumni from Broadway, TV, and The Metropolitan Opera, friends and others at a special gala & performance on Sunday, October 12 (3PM) above NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (60 Washington Square South) as they champion the ongoing history of the only full time professional Gilbert & Sullivan company in America!

NYGASP by the decade - the first 40 years! Four decades of fun, frivolity and fearless performances will be the theme of the special gala celebration of non-stop G&S enjoyment as NYGASP officially launches its 40th year! The afternoon will feature the NYGASP repertory cast & orchestra, alumni, and friends as they celebrate the ongoing history of the only professional Gilbert & Sullivan company in America while performing some of their favorite scenes and songs, plus both live and silent auctions and a champagne toast for all to share.

"We are very excited to reach this important milestone," stated NYGASP's Artistic Director, Albert Bergeret. "40 years of producing full scale productions is a serious achievement---but it also demands some special 'topsy turvey' fun! I think NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will be the perfect location and venue for our productions during this 40th Anniversary year."

The gala benefit event will take place at The Eisner-Lubin Auditorium (Above NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts - 60 Washington Square South.) General Admission is $85; $60 for season subscribers and NYGASP Guild Members. Reservations can be arranged by phoning 212-769-1000, available now through October 10th.

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players has presented over 2,600 performances throughout the United States, Canada, and England - where the Company appeared in August at the 21st annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Harrogate, UK. Incorporating a full orchestra, its productions feature contemporary energy while retaining a traditional respect for each of the G&S masterpieces. New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players is considered by many to be the nation's "leading custodian of the G&S classics."

The NYGASP 2014-15 season is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, celebrating 50 years of building strong, creative communities in New York State's 62 counties. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP), America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, will kick off its milestone season with a gala celebration on October 12th and continue with three productions of G&S classics scheduled to run through May 2015: Ruddigore (November 1 & 2); a holiday run of H.M.S. Pinafore (December 26-31); and a limited spring run of The Gondoliers (May 15-17, 2015).
