Frank Sinatra Jr. Hits The Blue Note Stage, Sings Songs Of His Father 5/29-5/31
Frank Sinatra Jr. will take the Blue Note stage for the first time in late May to sing the songs of his father, the late great vocalist Frank Sinatra Sr., as he remembers them. Sinatra Jr. grew up on the bandstand, listening to his father sing the classics from the Great American Songbook night after night, all over the world.
After decades of developing his solo career, Sinatra Jr. served as the musical director and conductor of his father's orchestra as per his father's request. Now, eleven years after his father's death, Sinatra Jr. will come to the Blue Note with his octet to perform the classics as he and his father's fans remember them. During an interview last year with Jim Traseger, Frank Jr. explained, "Because we're using the original orchestrations, which were his, what happens is I try to make the orchestra and myself sound as close to the original as possible for the simple reason that the people in our audience are the Sinatra fans."
