Washington, D.C. - Authors George R. Johnson and Frances R. Johnson assert that after the mandatory, but often uncomfortable, "sex talk" about the birds and the bees, another just as important talk about safety must occur. They call this "the second talk," and in their new, aptly named book, "The Second Talk" (published by AuthorHouse), the Johnsons discuss life-saving tips for everyone of driving age and beyond.

"We are concerned for our loved ones and want them to venture out and come home safely," George and Frances Johnson say. "The media reports on absolute horrors of police that escalate minor traffic stops into sometimes fatal altercations. A simple broken tail light on your vehicle could turn fatal if a policeman is not trained properly or if your loved one panics under duress."

The Johnsons' book intends to prepare driving-aged loved ones for the real world - the good, the bad and the ugly - and how to react and what to say decently to avoid confrontation with law enforcement.

This easy-to-read book is loaded with common sense do's and don'ts, manners, and vehicular-safety check points.

An excerpt from "The Second Talk":

"The Washington Post newspaper article of May 31, 2015, written by Kimberly Kindy, Julie Tate, Jennifer Jenkins, Steven Rich, Keith Alexander and Wesley Lowery, stated that at least 385 people were shot and killed by police nationwide during the first months of the year, more than two a day, according to a Washington Post analysis."
