'Stories from the Golden Age' Celebrates 10th Anniversary at...

The Stories from the Golden Age, a line of 80 books and audiobooks written by master storyteller L. Ron Hubbard in the 1930s and 40s, celebrated its 10th Anniversary at the Great American Truck Show 2018 (GATS) with truckers who were never bored at work when listening to these award-winning audiobooks.

Ten years ago, the Stories from the Golden Age audiobooks launched with considerable fanfare and included actors being interviewed on trucker radio shows such as Red Eye Radio, as well as having their own dedicated Sirius/XM Book Radio show. Whether mystery, adventure, thriller, science fiction, fantasy or western, readers have rediscovered what a century ago was America’s favorite form of entertainment. They have also become acquainted with one of the 20th century’s most prolific and popular authors, L. Ron Hubbard.

John Christiansen, a Southern California trucker, has been a long time L. Ron Hubbard fan. When asked about the Stories from the Golden Age, he stated, “These theater of the mind audiobooks provide me with a large variety of listening materials from different genres in addition to different lengths of stories, to both satisfy my listening preferences and my big rig trip times.” He also has his personal favorite audiobook, Battlefield Earth, which at 47-hours in length, “gives me listening material for almost a week, leaving me never bored at work.”

“Hollywood has long known the value of these Golden Age stories,” Goodwin stated. “Now we are seeing the reader becoming more and more cognizant of this fact.”

Stories from the Golden Age contain 153 stories written by L. Ron Hubbard that have been published in 80 volumes, in a wide spectrum of genres, including adventure, western, mystery, detective, fantasy, science fiction and even some romance, using his own and 15 pen names.
