This book follows the life of a young man who explores a new world of opportunity and new beginning after a traumatic incident of his family. In this journey, he will then begin to realize that everything has a price and not all things in life are made of gold.

William James Ashcroft was the only son, and sole heir to the vast fortune left to him by his father, the multi-millionaire, Andrew Franklin Ashcroft. He emigrated by sailing ship on board the vessel called The Lady Charlotte from England to Australia in 1876 at the age of twenty-one. His parents and older sister, Rachel, were killed in the fire that had completely destroyed Ashcroft Manor, and the only other survivor had been his nanny, Mary Murphy. So he asked her to go with him to Australia; she was only twelve years his senior, and she was the truest friend that he had ever known. Mary was elated that William had asked her to accompany him to the new colony.

It would be a long and lengthy journey and would take months to complete, but it would give them the time they needed to mourn, reflect, and heal. It's a new land and a new beginning and exactly what they both need.

Now, as William begins to rebuild his life in a new world, will he be able to reclaim his family's fortune and solve the mystery behind his family's death? Find out what happens next as this gripping and enthralling tale come to its epic end.
