International rhythm and blues artist bares his soul in a new autobiography called Real Talk and Hard Truth. It is written in the language of an educated gentleman who knows his responsibilities and his rights-at the core of this lies a heart that has intelligence beyond the ordinary in that it is unswayed by what it feels is not real and knows how to make what it feels to be right manifest in thought, in the musical arts and in the pages of this book. Simone De, he of the smooth and soulful voice, has a heart on the side of angels with a unique perspective on life.

Simone De has taken time to tell his story in his newly published book entitled "Real Talk & Hard Truth" bares witness to the current state of our nation with the focus on the African American Male. Simone De acknowledges that time is right for a national dialogue concerning issues that plague the Black Community such as: Black on Black Crime, Incarceration, Education, The Black Male in society, Super Moms in the home, Social Programs/Entitlements, Fathers who don't support their children. High School Dropout Rate, Relationships and others. You will be able to understand his reasoning as to how he derived at the information that is simply unquestionably, and undeniable the truth.

This book is so well written, and so relevant until it will cause a child to stop and think about his purpose, and intention in life. Although Simone De wrote the book to encourage people to take responsibility for their action, recognize your personal state, stand up and lead, or follow those who are example of positive productivity, and pursue excellence through wisdom and knowledge.

Simone De embraces family, relationships, friends, good character, and of course education. He urges all to meet the challenge of owning, and honoring our position in life and use it to better ourselves and those around us.

The native Alabaman talks the talk. This is done with pride and knowledge of what he is, a way of being as an African American. In other words, he is a full and responsible partner in the continuing vibrant cultural exchange between the rest of America and Black Culture that has contributed greatly to the American language, music, arts and culture. Simone De typifies the highly educated intelligentsia that has cannily navigated the explosive issues of the day with their music and their manhood (their attitude and what they present to the world at large). He shows the beginnings of his education, his maturation into a man who is truly open to the world of ideas and his fashioning his great talent as a musical artist into the vehicle for communicating beautifully to the soul-hungry of the American nation.

Simone De addresses the various topics that move the nation today. He ranges from relationships, to domestic concerns in African American households, to President Barack Obama's policies, to the coalescing philosophies that are remaking the intellectual landscape of America. As an educator, De brings much that is original to this book-his life is the palette with which he turns the world into a realistic, understandable and worthy place to be in. The soul brother, apologizing for nothing he has done and said, has written this book on his own highly readable terms. With testimonies from various kin and friends preceding his main narrative, De proves how his intellectual progress is itself the barometer of how America has become.
