Polly McBee Hutchison releases 'David: The Young Lion'

Polly McBee Hutchison had just finished reading Pauline Gedge's "The Eagle and the Raven" and was inspired to write something as good. It prompted her to come up with "David: The Young Lion" (published by iUniverse), the first volume in a series on the life of King David.

The biblical tale set in ancient Israel tells the story of David, a young man who embarks on a coming-of-age journey that he hopes leads him to his destiny-unless someone stops him first. It covers the time when he was tending sheep until he was forced to flee his home when King Saul wanted to kill him. It contains feats of personal bravery, enduring friendship and Israel's early attempts to become a unified nation.

"This book is full of drama, battles, internal conflict, historical detail and a good all round story. In other words, it is a fun and exciting fast paced read. "It is historically accurate in story and background of everyday life during this period of history," Hutchison says.

"As a Christian, I was familiar with the Biblical record of David's story. As a historian, I researched the topic thoroughly. I want readers to emerge from this book as if they have been totally involved in another place and time and just coming back to reality," Hutchison adds.
