Prayer, the author believes, is an inherent human need to connect with the divine. It is a way to communicate not just petitions but to embrace forgiveness, self-love, loving others and gratitude - to bare one's soul to God and surrender the burdens of grief, ennui, hurt and hate - to acknowledge and invite His presence in one's life. Finally, she postulates that "God is love...and before we pray, we must be in agreement with this absolute truth."
