Hoping to encourage readers to confront and overcome their own obstacles, Smokin Joe reflects upon his own life experiences from a biblical perspective in his new book, "Insight from My Life to Your Life" (published by iUniverse) to encourage readers to confront and overcome their own obstacles.

"I want my readers to know that life does not end just because bad things happen and to draw strength and be aware of their actions."

Entwining stories from his past trials and triumphs with scriptural passages that offer hope and encouragement, Joe intends to give readers strength for the hard times in their lives. The chapter titles allude to trees; "The Afterword" explains that the purpose of references to trees is to link lives of trees to those of people. Joe says that both trees and people face difficulties. The weather during each season strain trees while people face pressure from life that tests their faith.

"When they learn to trust God, Joe says, "(they) receive the strength to endure the buffeting of life's storms."
