Marine Veteran Releases Leadership Advice Book, MY BATTLEFIELD, YOUR OFFICE

Justin Constantine, an inspirational speaker, entrepreneur and TED lecturer who received a Purple Heart for his life-threatening injuries sustained in Iraq, just released a new leadership advice book, "My Battlefield, Your Office: Leadership Lessons from the Front Lines."

"The leadership tests that you face on the battlefield are dramatic, but in the end they aren't that different from the ones you face every day in the workplace," said Constantine. "Military leaders learn key tactics on how to manage groups effectively, how to improvise in the face of adversity and how to help your team develop to their fullest potential. I wrote this book so I could share this kind of insight I gained as a Marine in a war zone with corporate leaders and others in management positions."

Aimed at senior leaders, upper-level managers, highly engaged employees and service members transitioning to civilian life, the book offers specific tips on how to lead groups of people based on Constantine's experience as an officer in the Marine Corps, his recovery from a life-threatening injury in Iraq and his work as a liaison between corporate America and the veterans community.

As a captain in the Marines, Constantine volunteered for deployment to Iraq in 2006, where he was shot in the head by an enemy sniper on a routine combat patrol. After a grueling recovery, he worked for the Department of Justice, on Capitol Hill and with the FBI on a counter-terrorism team. Having retired from the military at the rank of lieutenant colonel, he now runs his own business as an inspirational speaker and is also a senior advisor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Hiring Our Heroes campaign. Constantine also serves on the Board of Directors of the Wounded Warrior Project and several other national nonprofit organizations.

"My Battlefield, Your Office" is divided into 15 impactful and easy-to-read chapters on specific leadership skills and important guiding principles. In the book, Constantine weaves together anecdotes from his own service, advice from top military leaders while discussing everyday management issues.
