Decatur, Ill.

Himself no stranger to poverty and the hard life, Keith Halliburton wrote "Li'l Mama" (published by Xlibris) to enlighten young women on what they have to face and the decisions that they have to make when they are confronted with adversity.

Set in Decatur, Ill., the book tells its story through Keshae Green, a.k.a. Li'l Mama, who relates ghetto life like it is, raw and uncut with no chaser. She explains her life in full with the harsh realities of being raised in poverty. The world takes her fast, and before she realizes it, she's a product of her own environment. Will she survive, or will she let the curveballs that life throws her eat her alive? Hers is a remarkable story of keeping it together even when the world seems out to take everyone down.

"Young women need to redirect their lives before it is too late," said Halliburton. "My book explains and helps our young women do better with their lives so that they do not become a statistic of the ghetto."

About the Author
Keith Halliburton, 36 years of age, was born in Kansas City, Mo. He found his interest in writing books during his incarceration solely because he felt that people need to know that people like him did not ask for the lifestyles that they have lived - how poverty has placed them in a stereotype of being monsters when they are only humans trying to find a way. Aside from "Li'l Mama," Haliburn also wrote "Consequences of the Game," which is got published earlier this year.
