Wanting to explain how the American Revolution occurred when it did, author Ernest B. Lowrie releases his second book, "Lord Chief Justice Mansfield: Dark Horse of the American Revolution" (published by Archway Publishing), a topic he stumbled on while researching a different book.

"At the end of the Seven Years War, Great Britain decided that the time had come to begin taxing the Americans. While the Stamp Act Crisis immediately exploded upon the scene, causing Great Britain to Repeal the Stamp Act, the issue simmered off and on until a decade later the Revolution became unavoidable," Lowrie explains. "Lord Chief Justice Mansfield was the most prominent advisor to the government throughout this struggle, heading the Court of King's Bench from 1756 to 1788."

In addition to exploring Mansfield's part in America's formation, Lowrie says his book explains how America remains different from other societies.

An excerpt from "Lord Chief Justice Mansfield":
After the French Revolution had begun and its first constitution was ratified, Mansfield's apothecary was moved to say to him, "Well, my Lord, the troubles in France are now over." He would have none of it, however, for he responding immediately, "Over, sir, do you say? My dear sir, they are not yet begun!"
