In 2006, David Lyons became one of the 2.1 million men and women diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis worldwide. Lying in a hospital bed, numb from the chest down, barely able to move, David had no idea that in only three years he would rise from the pain and frustration of the initial diagnosis to the stage of a bodybuilding championship where he would win the title of "Most Inspirational."

Facing his own personal goliath, David Lyons, like his namesake, chose to overcome through the power of faith and perseverance. David's epic journey, already an inspiration to thousands across the country, is told in David's Goliath: Winning the Battle against All Odds, releasing during "MS Awareness Month" March 2013.

"David's Goliath will empower all of us to climb higher and find the strength to overcome even the most difficult challenge," says Montel Williams, acclaimed TV host, bestselling author, and creator of The Montel Williams MS Foundation.

In this gripping book, David takes you on his journey of faith, trust, and perseverance. You will read how his walk with Christ took him on an unconventional path of healing. You will see how he battles this debilitating, unpredictable, and often misunderstood disease in what he calls "The MS Bodybuilding Challenge."

"David's Goliath confirms what I have been living for years," says Kevin Sorbo, famed actor in Hercules: The Legendary Journeysand author of True Strength. "You can overcome any obstacle in life with faith, determination, and drive. Having fought my own Goliath with my strokes, David's story and fight embodies True Strength."

A healthy bodybuilder and former owner of fitness centers, David Lyons made the choice to fight MS head on through bodybuilding. In 2009, at age 50, he competed in his first bodybuilding contest with MS, winning an impressive "Most Inspirational" trophy. David attributes his strength and determination to his relationship with Christ and the power of God in his life.
