In a new ground breaking book, The Genesis One Code, author Daniel Friedmann tackles the creation-evolution debate head on. Informed by both spiritual and scientific research, he offers a long searched for reconciliation between science and religion.

The creation-evolution controversy, also termed the origins debate, is a recurring cultural, political, and theological dispute about the origins of the Earth, humanity, life, and the universe.

In a January 26, 2013 article in the Economist entitled "Islam and Science - the road to renewal", the article's author points out how the creation-evolution controversy has had a major effect in the development of Arabic-speaking countries. The controversy has also had a major effect in American politics and private school curriculums.

At the heart of the controversy is the question of human origins. However, the argument originally ensued 200 years ago when geologic discoveries showed that the earth was significantly older than the simple reading of Genesis would support. Today scientists have determined that the universe is 13.7 billion years old and life arose on earth 3.5 billion years ago. Meanwhile Genesis places these events on a 6-day timeline occurring less than 6,000 years ago.

But what if the Genesis timeline, for the development of the universe and the appearance of life on earth, matched the findings of science for over a dozen key events, such as the age of the universe? Would this discovery not go a long way toward resolving the creation evolution controversy and free us to move forward with a reconciled view of science and religion?

It turns out that interpretation of scriptural sources allow for the precise determination of what a creation day is in time as measured today by science. Using this time conversion for a creation day it can be demonstrated that there is a clear alignment between the times of key events described in the creation narrative in the book of Genesis with those derived from scientific theory and observation. This work is described for the first time in the recently published book, The Genesis One Code.
