About the Author

Dr. Amy Kabel graduated with a bachelor's in education from Ohio University. She obtained a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Ashland University, a master's degree in reading from the University of Dayton and a degree in counseling from Xavier University. She also holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Ohio University. She is a third-grade teacher with Logan Elm Schools, where she has worked for 19 years. She has taught kindergarten and first grade, too. Kabel received National Board Certification in 2002 and 2012. She lives in Ohio with Hank and her husband, Paul.
