Red Hook Fest Celebrates 25 Years

Every year, the harbor-side neighborhood of Red Hook, Brooklyn enjoys a summer arts celebration. Red Hook Fest features a lineup of professional music and dance companies, over a dozen pre-professional youth dance groups, vital community resources, and fun activities for all ages such as kayak rides, face-painting, and an interactive scavenger hunt.

This year's festival will begin on Friday, June 1 with the Community Cookout & DJ Dance Party at PS15, The Patrick F. Daly School (71 Sullivan Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn), from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm. DJ Mikey Palms and local performers will entertain as attendees enjoy delicious fare courtesy of Fairway Market. The Festival Main Stage Events begin Saturday, June 2 at IKEA's Erie Basin Park (1 Beard Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn) from 2:00 pm-7:00 pm. The 25th Anniversary performances feature a stellar lineup, including Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, Bombazo Dance Company, Soul Science Lab, and Peliroja.

Red Hook Fest attracts over 5,000 people, including local residents and travelers from near and far. The largest cultural event each year in Red Hook, the festival highlights a one-of-a-kind Brooklyn community filled with art galleries, great food, and beautiful urban landscapes. This year's festival celebrates 25 years of powerful performances and community building and brings the landmark event just steps from IKEA and the corresponding ferry stop.
