Peedu Kass Momentum Trio Up Next as Part of Music By The Sea
Peedu Kass Momentum Trio (Estonia), led by composer and bassist Peedu Kass, with Kristjan Randalu (piano) and Toomas Rull (drums), their adventurous rhythms and clear sound have established the trio as active members of the European music scene.
Since winning the acclaimed Latvian 2006 Sony Jazz Stage Competition at the age of 20, Kass has played the field performing with big bands, done session and studio work, composed for orchestras and produced albums.
The second half of the program shines a light on a solo improvised piano recital by Sean Foran from classy Brisbane trio Trichotomy. A multi award winning artist, "Foran's compositions are always interesting using restraint and intricate subtlety, incorporating classical ideas into a jazz format," reports The Australian.
