After emerging from the wilderness with their first album in five years, indie heroes Grizzly Bear will play Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC) Concert Hall for one night only on 14 March 2018.

One of the most anticipated releases of 2017, their latest album, Painted Ruins was unleashed in August and, according to Vulture, had 'this year's stickiest and most surprising hooks', radiating an 'uncanny brilliance' (The Guardian) with its flirty sonics and gorgeous density.

Breaking onto the scene in the noughties, when indie rock was on a nose-bleeding trajectory, the Brooklyn-based band have spent the past decade creeping up Top 10 lists.

After the apartment-recorded 2004 debut Horn of Plenty, Grizzly Bear refined their heavenly interweaving harmonies and perplexing melodies with 2007's Yellow House - which was named in Pitchfork's 'Top 200 Albums Since 2006' - and 2009's Veckatimest, which made many of the year's Top Album lists.

Then came Shields in 2012, which was a critical and commercial breakthrough, debuting at #7 on Billboard's Top 200 and named '#1 Album of the Year' by Apple iTunes.

An era-defining - and era-defying - band, Grizzly Bear has been repeatedly praised by Jay-Z, toured with Radiohead and sold out gigs and headlined festivals around the world.

With an international tour on the back of rave reviews for Painted Ruins from the likes of The New York Times and Rolling Stone, Grizzly Bear is well and truly out of hibernation.

Tickets are on sale Friday 10 November at 8am from qpac.com.au.
