The Harbor Stage Company, the artist-run ensemble on Cape Cod's Wellfleet Harbor, opens their seventh intrepid season with Conor McPherson's spellbinding drama The Weir. Set in a sleepy Irish pub, this modern classic follows a lonely newcomer and band of local bachelors as they wind through an unexpectedly eerie evening. Rich humor and haunting lyricism shape this hypnotic portrait of community, confession, and the thin line between memory and myth.

Helmed by Artistic Director Robert Kropf, The Weir marks the much anticipated return of co-founder Stacy Fischer (The River, A Doll's House) to the Harbor's stage. The ensemble will also feature Cape favorites Dennis Cunningham (Outside Mullingar, the Harbor's Glengarry Glen Ross) and Ari Lew (Urinetown, Little Shop of Horrors), beloved Boston actor Gabriel Kuttner (The Last Schwartz, Fully Committed), and longtime Harbor collaborator Robin Bloodworth (Everything is Established, The Kritik). Rounding out the creative team are stage manager Katie Graves, lighting designer John Malinowski, and set designer Evan Farley. Performances begin Thursday, June 14th and will play through Saturday, July 7th.

The Harbor Stage Company is helmed by co-founders Jonathan Fielding, Stacy Fischer, Robert Kropf, and Brenda Withers. In keeping with its mission to produce great plays at fair prices for the right reason, and thanks to the support of local sponsors WOMR, Winslow's Tavern, and Kathleen Nagle at Kinlin Grover, single tickets to Harbor performances remain set at $23 (along with $65 three-play subscriptions). The company will continue its tradition of partnering with deserving Cape charities for their First Fridays Pay-What-You-Can performances. Half the proceeds from the Harbor's by-donation Friday, June 15th performance of The Weir will be donated to Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, a non-profit dedicated to creating an inclusive arts community by providing inspiring workshops, exhibitions, and events to students at all levels of ability.
