The darkly comic story of two recent college grads on the hunt for love, money, meaning, and Ed - New York's most elusive serial attacker.

Gionfriddo's exploration of the link between personal and mass hysteria follows Angela and Alison who have come to New York seeking to convert Vassar English degrees with distinction into fast fame and fortune. Their job search lands them employment making copies in the basement of Conde Nast- a situation which quickly becomes "untenable." Having given up on looking to make things happen, they have moved on to looking for things to happen to them. "It just seems like you can get a lot of money if you're in the right place when something bad happens." A serial attacker named Ed is roaming Manhattan preying on good samaritans. Angela and Alison join the community awareness group S.A.F.E. (Stay Away From Ed), in the hope of finding Ed and taking home the $100,000 reward. But could the reward for not finding him be even greater?

Gina Gionfriddo (Playwright) is the author of the plays After Ashley, Becky Shaw, America's Got Tragedy, Squalor and Safe. Her play U.S. Drag won the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for best English-language play by a woman, and Becky Shaw was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Gionfriddo's writing has been called "whip-smart," "hilarious" and "keenly intelligent," and she says her favorite plays are ones that start arguments. She lives in New York City where she also writes for "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Cold Case."
