Roundabout Theatre Company's production of the new musical, Death Takes a Holiday began performances on Friday, June 10, 2011 and opened on July 21, 2011 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Death Takes a Holiday will play a limited engagement through September 4, 2011. This production marks the second time a new musical has been presented in this theatrical space, following the recent production of The Tin Pan Alley Rag.

Last Night, Tuesday 19 July, Ghost the Musical opened in the West End at the Piccadilly Theatre where guests included McFly, JLS, Kimberly Walsh, Rochelle Wiseman, Joe McElderry, Lord and Lady Archer, William Baker, Michael Ball, Karren Brady, James Dreyfus, Jennifer Ellison, Bob Geldof, Rupert Graves, Leanne Jones, Lorraine Kelly, Richard O'Brien, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood, Frank Skinner, Denise Van Outen and Helen Worth.

Ghost The Musical makes its highly anticipated West End opening today, July 19, at the Piccadilly Theatre, after begining performances on June 24, 2011. Booking is open for performances through January 28, 2012.

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical returned to Broadway on July 5 at the St. James Theatre and officially opened last night. The 10-week only ‘Summer of Love' run will conclude on September 10, 2011.

Following on from the Menier Chocolate Factory's acclaimed productions of Sunday in the Park with George and A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's latest musical, Road Show opened last night, July 6. The final season of The Bridge Project, starring Kevin Spacey in the title role of Richard III and directed by Sam Mendes, began previews at The Old Vic on June 18 and runs through September 11. The company will then embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York in January 2012. Last night, June 29, Cirque du Soleil opened its major new acrobatic spectacle, Zarkana, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Performances began Thursday, June 9, 2011 for a limited engagement through October 8, 2011. Presented by iShares, Zarkana is written and directed by acclaimed film and theatre director François Girard (The Red Violin, Silk).

The Public Theater kicked off the 2011 Shakespeare in the Park summer season with the official opening of ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, directed by Daniel Sullivan. The show, along with MEASURE FOR MEASURE, will run in repertory with the same company of actors through Saturday, July 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

LCT3's production of 4000 Miles, a new play by Amy Herzog, directed by Daniel Aukin, opened last night, Monday June 20 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project (229 West 42 Street). LCT3 is Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences. 4000 Miles is the final of three productions during its 2010-2011 season. 4000 Miles features Greta Lee, Gabriel Ebert, Mary Louise Wilson and Zoe Winters, has sets by Lauren Helpern, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Ryan Rumery.

The brand-new West End production of LEND ME A TENOR is directed by Olivier award-winning director Ian Talbot (High Society, Anything Goes) and choreographed by Tony-nominated choreographer Randy Skinner (42nd Street, White Christmas). The production is designed by Paul Farnsworth, with lighting by Tim Mitchell, and sound by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster. The Musical Supervisor is Tony Award Winner Paul Gemignani, the Musical Director is Colin Billing, and orchestrations are by Chris Walker.

Well, it's finally here. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark has officially opened on Broadway, on Tuesday, June 14 th at the Foxwoods Theatre. The show now features creative consultation by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor, music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, and book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa . This time, unlike back in February, the critics were actually invited. Let's see what they thought...

On the subject of breaking the 10:00 p.m. embargo on reviews, -Rick Miramontez, Spokesperson, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark released a statement noting that 'For The Hollywood Reporter to break the embargo and run its review before opening night curtain goes up is the epitome of bad taste. Everyone in this production has waited a very long time to get to this point, and it is incredibly disrespectful that certain members of the media won't wait a few more hours to post their reviews. We trust that no other outlets will stoop so low.'

Richard Bean's revised version of Carlo Goldini's A Servant of Two Masters, titled: ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS features James Corden in the title role.The production, directed by Nicolas Hynter, is scheduled to open in May 2011 at the National Theatre's Lyttleton Theatre.
